JESSICA SO REN TANG

“When I think of identity, I think of childhood. I’m reminded of times where I thought everyone bought their groceries at Asian supermarkets and Chinatown. I thought that it was normal for everyone to go to Sunday school or light incense for their ancestors. This nostalgia directly inspires my object series because of the sweets I’d persuade my parents to buy me at the supermarket. The white rabbit candy was a common treat and it wasn’t until I got older that not everyone knew what this candy was or [had] even tried it.”
