Currently at 354,000 followers, @paintguide is an Instagram page created by Henrik Uldalen originally to feature artwork of both emerging artists and those of the past that personally influenced them. As the account grew, other artists were invited to takeover the Instagram feed and curate a week’s worth of inspiration for fans. PAINTGUIDE™ has since carried a visual dialogue on the art world’s continuing momentum into the digital sphere.

Social media’s impact on the art community has allowed creators to build a wider network of like-minded contemporaries and extend their reach farther than ever before. Social media has transformed how artists connect with their audience and how viewers interact with artwork. PAINTGUIDE™ NYC is an invitation to examine these ideas as well as the line between the digital exhibitions and in-person engagement with art.

PAINTGUIDE™ NYC will be on view March 3rd through March 25th, 2017 at 325 W 38th Street #1, New York City, NY 10018. An opening reception will be held Friday, March 3rd, 2017 from 7p – 11pm during New York City’s Armory Week festivities.
