CAITLIN T. MCCORMACK

“I would say that, since a majority of my work revolves around recollections of moments viewed through the heavily biased filter of my memory, film has been a humongous influence on what I do. My sculptures are sort of an attempt to condense a memory down into a totemic object  - my instinct to do this definitely comes from watching films and feeling the desire to capture and extract an image or interaction from the screen, and to create something that will let me hold those feelings in my hands.
